Jericho was a fortified city, and stood as an obstacle in Israel's way to the promised land. In like manner, every believer has a fortified city of sin in their hearts, that stands in the way of their sanctification. But yet neither Jericho nor sin are obstacles to the power of God

God had promised Joshua that the mighty city would be rent asunder by his army. So too does the Lord promise to demolish the dwellings of sin in our lives, for He says that "those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires"

So many times, and with so many of the battles one may face, the odds will seem impossible. But as it was with Israel, so shall it be with every believer, that those things that are impossible for man, are possible with God.

The Lord was with Josua - so shall He be with you.
